What is APA Style Central?

APA Style Central is an authoritative resource for learning about, educating about, writing, and publishing in APA Style. The product features D2L integration of various modules for use in your class. Topics include citing sources, ethics, plagiarism, mechanics of style, formatting, writing, and more. Over 200 choices are available ranging from guides, tutorials, books, self-quizzes, and sample papers.

Step 1: Setting Up a Content Landing Page

The Content Landing Page link should not be published for students. This link allows you to browse the various APA content that is available, and retrieve the appropriate links to place them in your course.

  1. From within a content area, choose Add Existing Activities and select External Learning Tools.

  2. Click on the Create New LTI Link button:

  3. On the Add Activity form, add a title and the content landing page URL

    1. Name: Name your link. Give your link a name that clearly identifies the content and/or action, such as “Select APA Style CENTRAL Content.”

    2. URL: Use the URL for the APA Style CENTRAL LTI tool
      https://my.apa.org/ltigateway/lti?ERIGHTS_TARGET=http://apastylecentral.apa.org/learnbb

  4. Click on the Create and Insert button, which will return to the content view.
