Places to study in Sherrod Library

Group Study Rooms

A total of 14 Group Study rooms are available in Sherrod Library on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors.

Use is first come, first served and groups have priority. If an individual is using the room when a group arrives and wants to use it, the individual must give up use of the room to the group.

Room 212

 

Enter from the hall next to the staff elevator or from the Periodicals area.

Renovated in 2015, furnishings include:

  • 2 tables, 8 chairs, movable 
  • 2 large wall-mounted dry-erase whiteboards
  • Mobile media:scape® with HD monitor for laptop screen sharing
  • Couch with built-in power outlets 

Adapters to connect laptops and tablets with Display Port, HDMI, or Apple Lightning ports to the media:scape® are available to borrow from the Ask Us desk.

Rooms 244-246, 338-340, 466-468

Three Group Study rooms are located in the back right corner of the collections area on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors. 

These rooms have windows.

Furnishings include

  • Wall-mounted dry-erase whiteboard
  • Table, 6 chairs
  • Power outlet with USB ports

 

 

Rooms 356-359

Located opposite Silent Study on the 3rd floor, there's less tolerance for noise coming from these rooms.

Instead of a table, they have study carrels and accommodate fewer people.
