Faculty Positions

Director of Student Success & Instruction

  • Reporting to the Associate Dean of Services, Technologies, and Collections, this director provides leadership in developing, implementing, and assessing library instruction and student engagement initiatives. This director-level position designs innovative instructional programs, oversees outreach activities, directs the efforts of Sherrod Library’s Student Success Librarians, and collaborates with campus partners contributing to students’ academic success. This position participates in library planning and decision making, library faculty governance, and library faculty initiatives to engage with academic faculty to support their teaching and research.

Education and Social Sciences Librarian

  • As a member of the library faculty, this position partners with university faculty in education and social sciences disciplines to promote information and data literacy through instruction, creation of resources (tutorials, LibGuides, etc.) and research services support. This 12-month, continuing (non-tenured) faculty appointment reports to the Director of Academic Research Services and contributes to a team environment.

Discovery and Access Specialist

  • Responsible to the Director of Innovative Technologies and Discovery Services, the Discovery and Access Specialist provides operational support of library systems, processes, and applications that support key library functions and services; provides assistance to faculty/staff on the application of technologies into library services; provides technical assistance for improving usability and discovery of resources; and provides technical assistance with data collection and reporting for assessment purposes.
