Sherrod Room 309 Use Policy

Room Use

Sherrod 309 is not to be used as a general meeting or conference room, training lab, or regularly scheduled classroom.

Authorized uses include:

  • ETSU course-related library instruction taught by or with library faculty.
  • ETSU course-related instruction sessions focused on library resources and coordinated through Research and Instructional Services. Room 309 may not be used as a regularly scheduled classroom.
  • Library initiated or sponsored technology-based classes, workshops, seminars, or other programming.
  • ETSU short courses, institutes, workshops, and seminars focused on faculty teaching, research, scholarship or creative activity taught by or with ETSU faculty.
  • ETSU faculty-led academic presentations or conferences.

If you have questions about authorized use, please contact us before making a reservation.

Reservations

Sherrod 309 is reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.

Make an appointment for technology training at least seven days before the reservation date.

Reservations will be canceled automatically if scheduled to occur after the university has officially closed for unexpected events (e.g., inclement weather, power failure).

Support

Each request is considered individually but in general there are two levels of support:

  • Set-up service: We provide access to the room, arrange the furniture in your requested configuration and provide technology training in advance.
  • Full service: Set-up service plus technical support during your event.

Both service levels require seven-day advance notice. Training is required for first-time users.

Food and Drink

Coffee and drinks in covered containers and light refreshments (e.g., fruit, pastries, sandwiches, snacks) are permitted.

If your planned use of the room also involves catered food service, please contact Library Administration (423-439-4337, libadmin@etsu.edu) before making a reservation to determine if an appropriate location in the building is available for food service.
