The Government Information, Law and Maps Department holds a large collection of almost 80,000 local, regional, U.S., and world maps. The majority of the collection is from the United States Geological Survey and includes topographical maps from all fifty states and Puerto Rico. Local city maps, transportation maps, and a diverse collection of maps of other countries and regions around the world are also included in the collection.
You can find physical maps in the collection and many available online in OneSearch via the library webpage. The department's staff can help you find maps in the collection and online from a variety of online government resources.
In an effort to preserve some of our older and more unique maps, the Government Information, Law and Maps Department is digitizing a portion of our rare map collection. This digital collection focuses on the northeast Tennessee/Southern Appalachian region and can be accessed online at https://dc.etsu.edu/rare-maps/
