The library has ambassadors available online in drop-in Zoom rooms and stationed in various locations throughout the main and Kingsport-Allendale campuses. Visit our Library Ambassador page for locations and times.

Graduate Students

From access to an extensive collection of books and databases to graduate study spaces and expert librarians, Sherrod Library is the place for your academic needs!

The New Graduate Student's Survival Guide contains a selection of campus and community information beneficial for new graduate students at ETSU. All of the resources listed are in Johnson City or on campus, with an emphasis on those within walking distance of ETSU. All can be reached within a drive of ten minutes or less, and all are on the bus route.

Lending Technology & Personal Librarian Program

With many in our region lacking internet services and/or access to a computer, the ETSU Libraries, Dean of Students, Information Technology Services (ITS), and Student Life and Enrollment (SLE) began a collaboration to solve this enormous problem many of our students faced in completing course work and the possibility of dropping out. The University used CARES ACT funds to provide laptops and hotspots to low-income, minority, and veteran students lacking the technology required for online learning and student services.

Recipients also have access to the Personal Librarian Program, which provides a human connection to the library. Personal Librarians also assist referring students with services such as equipment issues (Laptop/Hotspot), advising, scholarships, counseling, student employment, etc., information technology support, and academic support such as tutoring.
