Overview of Dashboards

Digital Commons @ East Tennessee State University provides individual metrics for researchers and collective metrics for organizations through their dashboards. The dashboards have four main tabs:

  • Readership shows where and how users are accessing content geographically, by institution, and over time.
  • Usage Reports shows downloads, metadata page hits, works posted, and list of individual works.
  • PlumX Metrics shows a variety of article-level insights and alternative metrics (citations, usage, captures, mentions, and social media). Visit About PlumX Metrics for more information.
  • Share the Dashboard provides links to quickly demonstrate impact to others.

Readership/Usage Reports versus PlumX Metrics

Readership and Usage Reports are based on the downloads and views of full-text and abstracts that have been added to Digital Commons@ETSU (including SelectedWorks profiles).

PlumX Metrics compiles metrics from Digital Commons@ETSU and external sources. For example, PlumX usage metrics include how many times a work has been downloaded not only from Digital Commons@ETSU, but other places where it may be accessible such as EBSCO databases, SSRN, Slideshare, and more.
