What's so special about the winter break for Interlibrary Loan?
Interlibrary Loan only works when there are libraries to borrow from, and from the middle of December through the first weeks of January, the overwhelming majority of academic libraries close down. Many public libraries remain open but refuse to send their material through the busy postal service. ILL supply lines are cut off.
The Sherrod Library will continue to accept ILL requests through the winter break. However, depending on the availability of a lender they may not be filled until libraries reopen in January.
